The Plaistow Public Library is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Minute Taker for the monthly meetings of the Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:30 AM with occasional extra meetings at other times. Meetings typically last 1 ½ to 2 hours, and rarely, up to 3 hours. The Library pays a flat rate of $150 per meeting and set of minutes.

The minutes are an important component of the public record process and serve as a permanent record of what transpires at Board of Trustees meetings. Minutes must include any specific actions or votes taken by the Board of Trustees and any action items to be performed by specific Trustees and/or personnel. Examples of previous minutes are available on the Library’s website (https://plaistowlibrary.com/board-trustees). To meet statutory requirements, the Minute Taker must submit draft minutes in typed format within five business days to the Board of Trustees.

Applications accepted immediately until the position is filled. Prior minute taking experience is strongly preferred.
