UPDATE: Click on through and request to join our Facebook Book Club here.
Book club is informal and friendly! No registration is required, nor is any kind of fancy literary background. Indeed, the books we choose vary widely from month to month -- some are short, some are long; some are easy reads, some are more challenging. We might do a non-fiction book with a regional connection, a biography of an interesting person in the news, or a traditional "book club book" that Oprah might recommend. Regardless, we have fun with it!
Also note: We are aware that many folks borrow our "book-club book" and read it on their own at home with no intention of attending the discussion group. That's fine, too -- we call them "lurkers" and love that they're willing to try something new. We do try to expose you to different authors, different genres, and different subject matters than you're used to. Reading outside of your comfort zone can be very enriching! But if you didn't like it, that's OK, too -- at least you can say you tried it!
We usually request a couple dozen copies of each title from other NH libraries, hopefully including a large print or audiobook edition. (Don't forget to check Hoopla and Overdrive -- our selection may be available to download from home!)
